Welcome & Announcements:

**The Graceful Envelope Contest was announced in last month’s eDigest.  This year’s theme is Greetings & Salutations with a due date of Monday, March 21, 2022.

**There are 18 people signed up for this year’s retreat at The Hide Away Fri Oct 22-Sat oct 23.  Angie Tingle will be teaching Drawing for the Calligrapher, Sherry Weaver will be teaching Flourishing with the Pointed Pen and Triangle Brush Florals, and Leslie Boehm will be teaching Gesso & Matte Medium Lettering under Watercolor washes & Fun with Wax Seals.

**Karen McGinn gave a synopsis of her week at IAMPETH in Omaha. She enjoyed meeting some of the 202 attendees, and instructor instructors, loved all she learned, and time touring the downtown shops and gallery. She especially enjoyed listening to Michael Sull.  IAMPETH will be held July 2022 in Atlanta.

**Leslie discovered an avenue for making and distributing handmade cards to a local non-profit organization designed to encourage local agencies.

Show & Share:

**Kristi Lyons put a booklet together, hand lettering the thoughts and poems her late sister wrote.

**Candy brought a travel journal she made along with a couple exploding boxes she turned into photo albums.

**Kathy showed a selection of art work she submitted for the 2021 Abbey Press Calendar.

Evening Presentation:

**Betsy brought several examples of Exploding Boxes she’d made along with written directions to include the dimensions of each.  We traced templates onto cardstock we brought and cut three decreasing sized box-bases and a lid.  To create an exploding box book, she included directions to stitch small signatures into each of the four folds.  These would make great gift boxes or a fun 3D card!
