Reggie Ezell’s Italic Video
Welcome & Announcements:
**We welcomed 3 new visitors, Kimmi’s friend Carrie Wright, Nancy’s friend, Andrea Bonino, and Margie’s friend Karen Standridge who has Gallery #113 of her own downtown on Tejon. Two of the ladies were ready to pay their dues!
**The guild was approved to present work for sale at Commonwheel for the month of Sept 2022! We were encouraged to begin working on pieces and projects we’d like to sell.
**We were invited to submit artwork to be considered to use for the fronts of guild business cards to be given out by us and/or to be available when we host the exhibit at Commonwheel next year.
**Our annual guild picnic is planned to be at Leslie Boehm’s house next month. Leslie suggested doing a book swap in conjunction with the picnic for fun.
**Helen Smythwick is teaching botanical watercolors at Phelan Gardens on Aug 25.
Show & Share:
**Kimmi brought two tunnel cards she made.
**Sharon showed off her paper crafts made from ideas she got off of Pinterest for journal covers, gift boxes, and the like.
**Karen McGinn showed us he very pretty wedge brush flowers from her on-line class with Jenn Sweeny.
**Cecelia had some samples of her pointed brush work with Yves Letterme. Some of it was done on her iPad!!!
Evening Presentation:
**Candy had a copy of Reggie’s Basic Italic to show us. We each had a sheet of lines and an exemplar to follow. Reggie went step by step starting with the ‘i’ family, then adding some ascenders and descenders followed by the ‘a’ family with its ascenders and descenders, then ending with the diagonals. His approach used two different pen angles for most letters to create his very angular italics.
