**The sign-up sheet for lettering book marks (using your own supplies) for Territory Days at the end of the month was passed around to add to Monday’s time slots.
**Mary has been culling our library and removing old periodicals. They will be available on the back table.
**Suzanne Moore will be here for a workshop she is calling ‘Speaking to The Eyes’ at the end of Oct at TJ’s church. Details will be forth-coming. She did some of the artwork for the St. John’s Bible. You can find her work at suzannemoorefolios.com.
**Leslie brought a couple of articles to our attention in Lettered Arts Review and Bound & Lettered featuring historical layouts.
**Tom is happy to coordinate a group to see the copy of the St. John’s Bible at a local Anglican church. Apparently, there is a YouTube video about how the SJB was created.
Show & Share:
**Tom had 4 pages of Proverbs 4 he had lettered this past month!
**Kristi brought a commissioned Monty Python piece she did with some illuminated work on vellum.
**Sherry brought an envelope Candy lettered for her.
Evening Presentation:
**Kristi placed a square of prepared instacol at each place along with a small jar of instacoll, glassine, and pseudo gold/silver leaf for us to try our hand at gilding. She had several samples to show us, including genuine gold leaf and imitation varieties, using instacol and gesso as a base for the metal leaf. He trials and errors were very helpful. She told us how to determine if the instacol was dry enough to add the gold leaf (by lightly brushing the side of our finger over it). We were able to add the leaf, smooth it out with our finger or burnisher, and remove the excess in our time together. Thank you, Kristi!
