Summit Scribes Meeting Minutes – Tuesday, November 9, 2021
Candy let everyone know that our Christmas party at Tammi Jo’s home will also be our card exchange, and that it’s okay to think out of the box to create Christmas “cards.” Reminder to make 30 cards to bring for the exchange. Also it will be a potluck and we will choose our favorite food to bring: main dish, salad, veggie dish, dessert, bread.
Leslie passed around a sign-up sheet for the First Friday at Cottonwood for December 3rd to letter bookmarks for the event from 5 pm to 8 pm.
Leslie also passed around a sign-up sheet for the Scribes birthday cards for 2022.
Lynn Friedberg encouraged everyone to begin creating art for the Commonwheel show and sale in September of 2020.
Show and Share: Dawn Fetterman showed a piece she’d created following Angie’s workshop at our retreat, and her flourishing pieces completed during Sherry’s workshop…stunning! Kimmi showed a painting she’d done at Painting with a Twist downtown when everyone else was creating pumpkin paintings, she did something amazing!
Lynn Friedberg taught Versatile Versals at our meeting, passing out folders with lots of goodies inside to get us started. She did a demo showing how to paint the negative space around the versals with a tie-dye look. Using watercolor, colored pencils, and then creating 3-D letters with papers, ribbons, and corrugated cardboard backing. What a fun time!
