Welcome & Announcements:
**Candy recently had surgery on her other knee and is rehabbing at home.  Kimmi is running the meeting as VP.
**We welcomed Vickie Lee, a friend of Kimmi’s, and we welcomed Lonnie Watts back.  She was a member in past years.
**Membership dues are still only $25 for the year, due in February.
**Karen S wants to pass the library on wheels to someone else.
**Barbara Close is coming to Cottonwood on March 2/3 to present Pointed Pen Variations.  Cost is $75 for members, $150 for non-members. Registration will begin with a check sent no sooner than Jan 21.  Look for a bulletin in an upcoming eDigest.
**TJ will offer a 4-week Basic Italic class in her home beginning Wed Jan 23.
**TJ collects cards tops from any occasion to send to St. Judes’ Children’s Hospital.
**Leslie passed around the guild member birthday card list to sign up for a month.  We will have a card making party at Kimmi’s on Friday, Jan 18 to stock our card coffers.
**Tom reminded us to look for copyrights that have been freed up with the turning of the calendar. Khalil Gibran’s copyright for “the Prophet” has been released.

Show & Share:
**Tom had a digital art piece he titled “The Boys Go To Breakfast” featuring the front end of an old model car one of them drives when they meet for breakfast.
**Kathy lettered 2 poems in Italic and also passed around some of her Christmas cards.

Presentation:
**We had 3 tables set up to reproduce 3 different Valentine’s Day cards.  Kimmi’s featured fun disc envelopes with floral paper hearts, cut out bees, and doodads.  If we finished early, she filled them with treats!  Sherry had 3 beautiful examples of white hearts done in pointed pen on red paper, and Leslie had a heart-shaped bird peeking out from a cut-out window with Peek a Boo written on the front.

December 2018 Meeting

Our Annual Christmas Party and Card Exchange was held at Mary Rhoda's house.  It was beautifully decorated with a gorgeous fresh tree and the Christmas bounty provided by the guild and all who came put us in a festive mood.  After we ate, we gathered in the living room and passed our cards around while we explained how we made them.  It is the highlight of our year.
